Who is the EQ Saddle-Clip intended for?
The EQ Saddle-Clip is designed for every rider who is serious about training and improving their horse’s performance. Basic measurements such as training structure, number of jumps, training on the left and right hand, training at each gait and symmetry show the actual load of the horse and are analysed in real time. Qualitative analysis, such as of rhythm and power of its push off, gives an insight into the horse’s development over a longer period of time. Train your horse to become a “Happy Athlete” and raise your own awareness of progress made.
Does the EQ Saddle-Clip also work on Western saddles?
Yes, the EQ Saddle-Clip can be used on Western saddles, but since Western saddles are more diverse in design than English saddles, the compatibility depends on the specific saddle type. It is recommended to send a photo of your Western saddle to Equestic’s Customer Care Team (service@equestic.com) to confirm proper fit.
How to replace the battery in the Saddle-Clip?
You can ask us or our partners to replace it. Here you can find details of the process and replacement cost Battery Repair Request – Equestic Saddle-Clip.
It will be free of charge if your Saddle-Clip is still under a one-year factory warranty and it was with normal use (regular charging).
Please email us by service@equestic.com describing the problem.
You can replace the battery yourself. It’s quite easy and will take just about 5 minutes if you would precisely follow the video instruction.
You will need the Battery “LIR2450 3.6V (or 3.7V) 120mAh rechargeable Lithium-Ion button cell”.

Where can I find a full manual of the Saddle-Clip and app?

Do I have to carry my mobile phone with me when I’m riding?
No, you don’t. Equestic Saddle-Clip can buffer rides up to one hour long. You only need your mobile phone to turn your Saddle-Clip on and off. At the end of your training session, the Saddle-Clip needs some time to process the data, this takes approximately a third or a quarter of the time ridden. For 45 minutes of riding, the Saddle-Clip will need about 10 to 15 minutes to process. This process has to be completed before you can start a new training session.
Does it matter which side of the saddle I attach my Saddle-Clip to?
The Saddle-Clip must be attached to the left saddle flap. It doesn’t matter if it is at the top or the bottom of the flap. It is important to position SaddleClip horizontally; at a maximum angle of 45 degrees. If your SaddleClip is not positioned correctly, the Equestic app will let you know.
Does the EQ Saddle-Clip measure the horse’s heart rate?
The EQ Saddle-Clip does not measure heart rate. We recommend a special heart rate monitor for horses for this purpose. We are planning an update to combine the readings of Polar heart rate monitors with our data.
Does the EQ Saddle-Clip measure the speed or distance?
The EQ Saddle-Clip app does not record the distance (in kilometers) or speed of a ride. Its main features focus on providing detailed measurements related to the horse’s gait, rhythm, symmetry, impulsion, and transitions, among others. If you need to track distance or speed, combining the EQ Saddle-Clip with a separate GPS-enabled device or app might be an alternative.
